I had a comment from a reader suggesting that splitting off the politics from the rest of what I write is a bad idea. Perhaps I just jumped at it too fast. I responded with my main reason. Of course, this is all in the comments section, so many people won't necessarily see there's a conversation going on there unless they visit that post directly.
